We are investing more than £500,000 in our premises and equipment, following growth in demand for secure IT asset disposal and recycling services. Double digit year-on-year growth has created a need to upgrade our office and warehouse facilities, as well as our vehicle fleet.
Richard Connock, Commercial Director at Blackmore Ricotech, said: “Our priority has always been in data sanitisation, which means secure destruction of data from IT assets they no longer need or use.
“We have also been developing robust processes to easily help organisations dispose of their redundant IT, as well as helping them to maximise the value of that equipment. We’re able to refurbish and upcycle more than 90% of the assets and components we collect, and potentially give business owners a generous revenue share from their sale.
“The recent introduction of GDPR has also heightened companies’ awareness of data, and they’re engaging with us to help them ensure potentially data-holding items are identified and securely cleansed of personal and commercially-sensitive information.”
Our brand new fleet of vehicles will ensure fuel efficiency when collecting IT from across the country, and also the ability to collect it reliably. We have also started work on a £500k refurbishment of our existing office and warehouse space, a former dairy near Warminster.
This will enable us to improve office and warehouse space and therefore capacity. By the end of February 2019 the warehouse system will have also been upgraded, potentially using RFID and conveyors to securely handle and monitor asset disposal processes.
During the refurbishment, we will continue to operate from our ADISA-accredited and Environment Agency Authorised Treatment (AATF) facility in Chitterne, Wiltshire.
